Friends of Scouting 2012 - As per usual, Troop 845 Scouts were featured in this year's Boy Scouts of America Occoneechee Council Friends of Scouting video. Pretty solid interviews for our younger scouts and also plenty of adventure coverage from throughout the year.
Weekend backpacking on the AT at McAfee's Knob: November 12th 2011 -
On a chilly weekend of November 12th, professional photographer and backpacking guru Ted Richardson traveled with the 'Goon Squad' over the weekend and documented their 14-mile trek on the Appalachian Trail in Virginia.
Friends of Scouting 2011 - Scouts from Troop 845 were featured in the Occoneechee Council 2011 Friends of Scouting campaign, as were a number of photos from this year's past adventures.
Camp Durant Promo - Scouts from Troop 845 were recently featured in the new Camp Durant promotional video. The Occoneechee Council is in the process of completing a camp-wide and stunning renovation of Camp Durant and T845 Scouts were happy to help promote the new facilities and get thousands of new Scouts down to Durant in the coming years.
Cycle 20Ten Timelapse -This summer Troop 845 sent a out the Cycle20Ten crew out to bike 3700 miles across the US from Maryland to Washington. The trip took 10 weeks and along the way they raised $25,000 for UNC's Lineberger Cancer Center. This is a time lapse of a few thousand photos shot on their journey across the heartland of America.
Troop 845 Lineberger Fundraiser -This year the Scouts from Troop 845 have teamed up with UNC Lineberger's Comprehensive Cancer Center for a cross country bike trip as a fund raiser for the center. Check out the recently released partnership about the collaboration.
Habitat for Humanity 2009 Guatemala - In the summer of 2009, Scouts from Troop 845 traveled to Coban, Gautemala where they teamed up with Habitat for Humanity. For the next month they built two houses from cement and rebar in the Guatemalan jungles for some local families, and later hiked in the Mayan Ruins of Mirador before heading to the beaches of Belize for some relaxation.
Friends of Scouting 2010 - Each year the Occoneechee Council puts together a fundraising video for its Friends of Scouting campaign. This year the Council featured Scouts and trips from Troop 845. If watching it makes you want to take out the wallet and make a donation, feel free to give it directly to Troop 845 so we can use it for some more sweet trips.

John Muir Trail Trailer - Claimed by many to be the best trail in the world, the JMT runs 225 miles in California from Yosemite Valley to the summit of Mount Whitney. In the summer of 2008, the lure of this trail and its reputation peaked the curiosity of the T845 Scouts, and some of the troop's strongest backpackers went out to tackle what is now BSA's longest backpacking trip on record....for a while.
