About Troop 845
Welcome to Troop 845. We are a Boy Scout Troop serving boys and young men in the Chapel Hill and Carrboro area for the last 50 years. We currently have about 65 Scouts in the troop and run an incredibly active outdoor program. Our troop is currently at capacity, so if you are interested in joinging, please contact our Scoutmaster about our next available opening.
T845 prides itself on being one of the most active troops in the district. Traditional scouting values as well as outdoor and leadership skills are taught through our weekly meetings, monthly outings, or our exhaustive summer program. Whether you are a new Scout looking to build your first year skills or an older scout looking for the highest level of adventure scouting has to offer, Troop 845 has a program for you.
We're in the midst of a great year right now. We have quite a few new Scouts in their first year this year and quite a few Scouts going up for Eagle so we're covering the full range of Scouts right now. Our trips this year have all been an outstanding success and participation is at an all time high. Take a look at this year's photo album to catch a glimpse of the fun we're getting into.
Our troop meets every Tuesday night at 7pm and our meetings focus on preparing for the upcoming trips and advancement. We go camping at least once a month and there are often opportunities for multiple outings each month. Over the summer we usually attend two week long summer camps, visit one of the BSA high adventure bases, plan a moderate high adventure trip for our young Scouts and plan a monster multi-week high adventure trip to the far reaches of the country or globe.
If you're interested in joining Scouts or our troop please contact the scoutmaster about our next opening on our roster.
